We’ve had Milton Keynes’ Namji Xscape restaurant on our wish list forever! Finally we got an opportunity to have lunch there for my birthday this month. So, today I am excited to share my dining experience and review of Namji Indian Punjabi restaurant with all of you.
How to get to Namji Xscape Restaurant:
Namji restaurant has two main branches, one in Wolverton and other one is in Milton Keynes. Namji Milton Keynes restaurant is located at the Xscape recreation centre, ground floor near the Ice cream parlour. It took us only 20 minutes walk from our place to reach the centre. If you are coming from Central MK station, it will take the same amount of time.
Address: 602 Marlborough Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 3XS. Xscape Milton Keynes
Namji Xscape Punjabi Restaurant Review (My Dining Experience):
Our friends who have been to both Namji Wolverton and MK restaurants always raved about this place, especially its decor and I couldn’t agree more 😍!
Restaurant Decor:
As soon as I stepped into Namji xscape, I was blown away by its authentic Indian decor. It certainly transports you to a typical Punjabi household in India. Every corner of this place is beautifully decked up with Indian props such as colourful umbrellas, decorative showpieces, the floral arrangements, chandeliers, and traditional crockery. They even have a dedicated spot for photo ops near the entrance with the slogan ‘Good food and great vibes’! In short, this restaurant has a lovely rustic charm with a modern touch that I absolutely loved ❤️.
The restaurant isn’t very spacious, so if you’re planning to visit with a big group of friends or family, make sure to book a reservation in advance. We went without booking a table online.

Namji Xscape Food & Service:
Namji is best known for its authentic Punjabi cuisine. Hence, as Punjabi food enthusiasts, we ordered our favourite items from their menu. They offer a wide range of traditional Indian food options, from special Punjabi breakfast dishes to Chef’s special vegan and vegetarian dishes, plus a kids’ menu—something for everyone! Just a heads up, they don’t serve alcohol here. I also loved the quirky names of their dishes!
My husband has diabetes and is currently on a diet, so we decided to try only a few items that day. We ordered Malik (lamb) Sheekh Kebabs from the starters, and from the Mains we tried Lahori Kadai Chicken, Vegetable Fried Rice, Mazedar Dahl (lentil) Makhani and Gajar (carrot) Halwa with Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. We kept it simple with drinks, ordering Coke and mineral water.
If you have been following me for a while, you know I have a thing for Sheekh kebabs. However, I was not impressed with Namji’s kebabs this time. I usually like the firm, rich yet soft texture of sheekh kebabs but these were completely flat both in look and taste. On the bright side, the butter naan and colorful vegetable fried rice were delicious and perfect. I expected the dahl makhani to be creamy, mushy, and thick, but it was a bit watery and mild 🙃.
The kadai chicken was well-balanced with succulent chickens, veggies and spices. The star of our lunch was their Gajar Halwa 🤤! The hot and rich carrot halwa had the perfect level of sweet and creaminess and the addition of Vanilla ice cream was the cherry on top!

Before placing our orders, the staff asked about our spice preferences. We requested medium spicy dishes, but had we known that medium spicy would be super mild, we would have chosen the hot option! We’ll keep this in mind for our next visit.
Except for the fried rice, the portion sizes of other dishes are sufficient for two people. Anyway, their service is super quick and staff are pretty attentive and friendly.
I must admit that the food at Namji Xscape is expensive and not as delicious as other Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Milton Keynes I’ve tried. It didn’t quite meet our expectations. However, we’ll try their other veg and non-veg dishes next time, so I’ll update this post later.
Overall it gets –
Interior Decoration – 5/5
Food Taste & portion – 3/5
Service- 5/5
